The 2013 Fixin Village comes from four or five small parcels of vines that are aged between 30 and 60 years old and it sees 20% new oak. The nose certainly has greater sense of purpose compared to the Bourgogne Rouge, with lifted cranberry and raspberry scents, attractive woodland aromas developing behind. The palate is medium-bodied with candied orange peel and red cherries on the entry. There is a palpable sense of energy here with good delineation on the finish. This is a significant level up from the Bourgogne Rouge and comes recommended.
